I just started knitting a few months ago and have saved a few patterns. I want to pick one out and start on it this month (June).
I want to be finished by winter!
How to knit an afghan
How I did it: My grandmother gave me a bunch of her leftover yarn and a set of knitting needles and I set to work. It took a lot of dedication and time that I could have used doing other things, but now that its done I'm so proud of myself!

Actually, I’ve got a few in the works. I am almost done with one for my daughter AefA… and another one started that is pretty far along. Both are with pastel purples, pinks, blues and some greens. However, I’ve had to put something else first right now, I have to work on a scarf that I promised to AefA’s second grade teacher. It is a really kewl looking maroon and electric blue sparkling fuzzy scarf. I love making these because they are so easy. It is all just knitting with 2 strands of yarn until it gets long enough.
When I’m done with the scarf, I will get back to one of the 2 afghans and get that finished… so I can move on to this really kewl pattern that I have for a shawl.

I just learned to knit. I completed a scarf. I would like to complete a decent sized afgahn now.
I just have 1 more of panel A to do, then I can start on the B panels… I’m getting faster. I just hope I don’t run out of yarn! 30 skiens sounds like a lot but it goes fast.
I have knitted one out of 24 cable knit panels needed for this project and it looks pretty good… Its going to take forever though, unless I get a LOT faster…
There’s this beautiful cable knit afghan pattern I have but it takes a ton of yarn. I couldn’t afford to buy it before, but my mom is getting me the yarn for Christmas so we’ll see if I can actually finish such a big project!
Almost done – I have 1 and 1/2 squares more to knit and then to stitch it together – hopefully in time for a Christmas present!
I picked it back up finally! Finished square 3 and on to square 4. I have decided to try to get this done in time for Christmas, but that may be unreasonable…..we will see!
I started knitting one for my sister about 6 months ago, got 3 out of the 12 squares complete and haven’t touched it. I want to finish it by her next birthday (September)
wikidlette is at school
I finally found time to work on it and have finished the border and started the “body” of the blanket. It looks very nice so far, and I’m loving the yarn, it sort of looks like a rainbow threw up but in a good way.
