Peace Corps

Could anyone please share with me the requirements of joining the Peace Corps? Any tips or words of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

I want to join the Peace Corps in Paraguay.

I want to wake up in some foreign country in a little cot far away from all familiarites and feel entirely like I belong there.
I want to give most back.

...I realized that leveraging the web in more practical ways could help volunteers get projects underway, share the culture of the host country and increase volunteer productivity.

I graduate in May, and I am trying to decide between the Peace Corps and one of the may alternative programs out there. Anybody have advice?

I’ve obviously skipped a few months of keeping up with this task.

I’m officially a Peace Corps Volunteer now. I’m in the Philippines and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to accomplish something…nay, anything…in the next two years.

I guess I can’t mark this “thing” as done yet then…because I still have a ways to go.

I accepted my invitation to Micronesia/Palau for Sept ‘07. I still have a few months to get things ready, but can feel some “anxiety of the unknown” creeping in. All in all, I’m more excited than anything!

If anyone else is headed my way, or has been there – let me know.

I’ve begun the application and find myself stuck on the essays portion. I’ve always had trouble writing about myself, and then to do so in under 500 words?! Any advice?
