read the books I own but haven't read yet

However, it seems like the best place to share this video of Erin McKean, the editor-in-chief of U.S. Dictionaries for Oxford University Press, for all my word obsessed friends here! It’s about 18 minutes long.

While you’re there, and if you have another 40 minutes, I highly recommend watching Thomas Barnett too. It’s more serious than McKean’s talk, but I found it quite fascinating.

Along with TED, PopTech is a conference I’d love to go to, but given the massive price tags and the fact they only let you in if they want to, it may be some time before I manage it!

This week I finished another two books, and made it halfway through a third. I’m getting guilty about not posting reviews, so I need to my act together on that front.

The last few days have brought me 3 new review books, and £40 in Amazon gift vouchers. I’m already way behind in my reviews (I haven’t posted anything to my blog at all this year), so I’ll resist the urge to spend the vouchers, and endeavour to catch up and write some reviews!

Harvard Business School Press sent me another book to read, along with their new catalogue. Thankfully, it only has 4 or 5 books I want to read. I also discovered that the text file I’ve been using to track other book titles now has 270 names in it, to go along with the 900 or so on my Amazon wishlist. Not to mention the stack of 34 books patiently waiting on me reading them. I think I might need to learn a new way to read.

I don’t even want to post my list anymore, since it’s at least doubled since the last one…
