I needed it for tomorrow and I only had a couple of hours in my lunch today to look. I finally bought one. I don’t love it as much as my last, and sure I could find a cheaper bag for the same quality, or found one that was more practical, but it was the best of the lot.
Negatives:
- It might be slightly too wide for hand-luggage so I’m going to have to remember not to over stuff it.
- The outside pockets aren’t practical for travelling with as they aren’t zippable.
- The main opening only JUST fits my laptop, which means I can see myself struggling to get it back in quickly after airport sercurity checks.
- It’s light colour means it’s going to show the dirt.
- It’s deep, but without the flexibility of a zip to go all along which means everything is going to be sucked into its void, especially without practical external pockets.
- It’s bulky (compared to my old one) so wont be as esily stored
- water resistant interior makes it rattle
Positives:
- It’s big enough to fit my laptop and a weekend’s worh of stuff.
- It’s attractive yet not too showy. Happily take it grocery shopping.
- The straps are adjustable so I can change where it sits on my side depending on what it has in it.
- Thick straps so they don’t cut into shoulder.
- It can be used as airport hand-luggage.
- Water resistant type interior

It needs to be big enough to fit all my stuff in for a weekend away, yet also small enough for hand-luggage on a plane. Plus attractive enough for everyday use.
My last bag of over two years that I bought in Italy was perfect, but broke last week. I need another by next weekend.

One would have thought, given the easily measurable outcome and less than challenging nature of this goal, that I would have completed it long ago. But oh no. I seem to have had a real mental block with it, I think largely due to the fact that I don’t see myself as a bag carrying person (although I often do carry one), so the right bag for me doesn’t seem to exist.
But anyway, my mum gave me one of her spare back pack things, so I’m no longer desperate for a shopping bag (my old one was falling apart). It’s not remotely the kind of thing I’d buy for myself (neither was my old one), but it appears to be very practical. Now I just need a decent leather shoulder bag for going to business meetings.
So now my block is how to ensure the bag I buy will have been made from decent quality, environmentally friendly leather…

I really, really need a new one. I’ve just got to bite the bullet and buy one. Even if I don’t really like it. It’s not even as if I like the one I currently have,

turtletortoise is breathing deep. For there is nought else to be done . . .
Mooshoes .com It should be here next week. Is synthetic leather and large enough for a laptop, for when I accomplish that goal. Pricey, but durable.
