Somebody teach me to dance! — 2 months ago
I always wanted to learn to dance, all different dances, but never found anyone willing to teach me.

I want to become a great hiphop, lyrical and ballet dancer. I want to improve my skills. Get on a higher lever and in the hiphop competition team.
i’m shy.
and overweight.
that doesn’t explain a lot.
it explains it all.
i really want to learn to dance because my chick does awesome and she has great rhythm but i dont
I’ve only started to get interested in dance in the last year or so. But I can’t help thinking that I will never ever be that good because I didnt start when I was young. Is it actually possible to become a really good dancer if you dont’ have an early start?
I’m not sure what a realistic completion of this goal would be for me. How good at dancing do you have to be to be able to dance well?
yeah i’m white and nerdy, well at least i am. i’m an ok dancer but i want to be better. i just can’t find a place that will teach me how to dance. i have to say the only good thing about my present dancing skills is that it makes people laugh, which does make me happy.
Worth doing!
Well, I took up swing dancing over the holidays. The key is…find a great guy that knows what he’s doing on the dance floor. The rest will follow, you might even get a great guy out of it.
I’ve spent the entire day watching old musicals, and it reminded me how much I want to do this. I should probably change the goal from “learn to dance well” to “learn to dance at all” since as of current, I cannot.
And I would just like to mention, that In the Good Old Summertime is my new favorite movie.
Lately I have been really into Latin dances, especially salsa. I love the Latin music, and just want to dance whenever I hear it. I like the Dance Spectrum in San Jose, and also Allegro’s Ballroom in Emeryville is good.
Yesterday someone asked me go to go a Friday Night Waltz in Palo Alto, and as was expected, this was a big change. I know the slow waltz, but this was VERY different. They do cross-step waltz, rotary waltz, viennese, and others. They also do polka, schottische (peculiar-looking dance), occasional swing, tango, cha-cha, salsa, etc. The general mood is of Victorian era, and on special events they all dress up in Victorian clothes. Pretty cool. My first time dancing all these weird dances, and I kind of got a hang of Viennese and other fast fast waltzes. How I am thankful to my partners for keeping me on my feet, I remember my head spinning for a few minutes after one particular dance. Fun fun!
