I shouldn’t be so mean to the poor little Gobin. I think it feeds on cheers like seals feed on fish so I shouldn’t blame it for being itself.

I had 15 cheers and while I was finding people to cheer the goblin came and made off with 7 of them!
Go away!
I’ve been playing catch up all day…
It isn’t nice to treat me this way…
Go away Goblin, Go away!
Cheer Goblin 4, Cathie 1
Cheers received in the last hour… 10
Cheers given in the last hour… 2
Cheer goblin 3, Cathie 1
showed I had 5…. usable ones…. 1
Goblin 2, Cathie 0 (for those who are keeping score)
it has been like this all day… I’ll have 5, I’ll be able to cheer 3. Said I have 2, went to cheer, hadn’t got a one.
The cheer fairie giveth, the goblin taketh away.
why I had nine cheers then they are gone…
Then I come back right before bed and find out I’m 32 cheers behind!
Wow…
Kill the cheer goblin… or at least maim him…
grumble grumble.
If I promise to stop trying to kill you, would you, if you could be so kind, let the cheers come my way so that I may give them out? I’ve not been able to cheer in 14 hours now… I conceed…
It’s a response to “End Cheer Leaking” idea posted by one of the developers:
Cheers quotas
We’re going to keep playing around with the way cheers are awarded but currently you “earn” a bonus cheer for each cheer that you receive. But your daily base quota and “earned” cheers work on a 24-hour rolling window, so your allotment can change at any time. For instance, your scenario probably arose because you’d spent your base quota of cheers for the day, but had “earned” two bonus cheers within the last 24 hours. Then those bonus cheers expired. Make sense? We could make this more transparent but we are likely to keep tweaking the system…and their mystery is part of the appeal of cheers, no? ;-)
