I think that music can say more than words can ever. I love making mixCDs <3

i’m pretty sure that i make enough mixes. the most recent was a 2-disc mix for madeline’s travels to france and lithuania. i throw them together when people come over. i’ve started one about the new apartment. i’m basically always making mixes, so i no longer need this as a goal. woo!
...and into the mix!!! I usually start with fairly limited rotation beginning a week or two into November, and ramp things up to Thanksgiving when they become front-row-center in the mix. After last Christmas season, which was way awesome, definitely looking forward to it. :)
If you’re interested: My Christmas MP3-CD (long!) I do each year. I’m going to try and get a few more tracks into the mix for this year.
Finally got round to making a little mix, and passed it onto a friends, lets wait for the feedback lol!
Was a nice little mix, about 30mins, with lots of random samples and some good mashed up tracks nicely woven together, always good to make it fun!
Well ive got the software, and ive been meaning to make one for my brother for sometime now, just need to select a genre and some tracks…
Most compilations I make are based on songs that associate with a place or event or something. Songs will “imprint” onto it. In most cases it’ll be songs I’ve recently become familiarized with combined with a place/event/something recent. Problem is, I haven’t had very many new-to-me songs combined with going to many places or events, for several years now. Consequently, no significant new soundtrack compilations to places/events/etc to make mix albums out of. My newest I think is one relating to the Star Wars universe. But I’ve gotten some of the more important long-time compilations into playable form, either tape or CD or set of MP3s. Most recently, this one:
I’ve had a long-time compilation based mainly on Knott’s Berry Farm and also San Diego Zoo and a few other SoCal areas, specifically imprints (some latent) sourcing from visits in 1986 and 1980. I got this on the computer (mostly from cassettes) and converted to MP3 format to coincide with a recent visit. This is my most recent “mix CD” although it and several others are on an MP3-CD (too long for a single audio CD). Discussed in detail here
