Buy less stuff

It turns out that I buy too much other stuff as well – especially if they are bargains….

We were tidying this weekend and I discovered 5 bottle of Fairy liquid, 5 bottles of squash and 5 packets of dishwasher tablets.

I am going to try and be better.

I finished the first book of a trilogy and really want the next one – is this allowed – probably not – but I want it in any case. I am rebelling. Amazon here I come….

Curses Amazon’s free delivery lured me in and prompted me to spend over £5 – as the book I wanted was 3.99 – this meant another book – boo!

Still I haven’t bought any CDs.

Two weeks have gone by and I have no more CDs, books or games.

I have bought food and underpants.

In fact, we cleared out underneath the beds and found loads of stuff to take to the charity shop.

Whoop Whoop!

I have resisted buying things for two days now.

I resisted visiting a really nice charity shop yesterday (age concern on the edgeware road).

Even though I got some really good offers through on email…

There was one that seemed too good to be true – 10 books for £16 – mmmmm books.

There is the small possibility that I have enough stuff.

Too many bargains and so little time.

It turns out that I am an acquistive little magpie who want to build a nest out of bargain books, cds, dvds and computer games.

The number that I have not read, listened to, watched or played is not a good number.

I will stop and be better in future.

I’d rather focus on getting down to more minimal - and necessary - stuff than acquiring more.

I’m totally failing at this, this week! In 4 days I’ve spent £400 and I have nothing to show for it except a 2 day hangover and a couple of books!

So last week i decieded I wouldn’t go shopping at all when actually only for the nesessities…but then I found myself “needing” everything so I guess I will have to back to square one and truly budget…..

I swear this month will be all about minimalism! OK, I might buy myself a holiday, but everything else I buy will be of necessity!

That would be because I have no money…but hey, it’s happened.
