How to ride a jetski

How I did it: I bought jet skis years ago because I had rented some on the beach and thought the investment would be worth it since they are so expensive to rent. (read below for my opinion on that.) Anyway, these are so super fun it's amazing. I always got two (even when renting) and I rode one and friend would ride the other. They are large enough to feel safe on and can go almost anyway (EXCEPT OVER LILLY PADS---I got stuck one time they went up into the engine.) Jumping waves is fun. Making a wake is fun. It's a guaranteed smile. Do it at least once!
Lessons & tips: Rent them, don't buy them. Unless you are able to ride them at least 20 times a summer, then in my opinion it's better to rent. The engines require a lot of maintance. The trailor was difficult for me to back into the water. You have the monthly payment along with insurance and then there is the worst part.....cleaning them after a long day in the water. You are tired from a long day in the sun, and then you have to go hose them down (if you want to keep them in good condition of course) and put them up properly when you are tired. So much better to rent them for 2-4 hours....enjoy them and then hand the headache of ownership back over to someone else. (Also as mentioned above...don't ride over lilly pads...you'll get stuck)

i’ve done this several times… love it! it can be a little scary when you are holding on to someone else, but thats half the fun.

had to try it just for experience’ sake, did it in Bali .. parasailing is a much cooler water activity .. but still worth trying to make those sharp turns with jetski n see if u can flip it over hehe

i’ve always wanted to jetski but i have no idea where to go or where to do it… i heard it’s kind of like riding a motorcycle, is that true? and what happens if you fall off, does the jetski keep going for a while and you have to swim to it (i’m a horrible swimmer!^^)

I love jetskiing, and cannot wait until we get one of our own. Not that I mind borrowing my step-dad’s, but the 5 hour drive to go get it or bring it back, kind of takes the wind out of your sails, you know?
Seriously, though, this is sooooo worth trying, because it is so much fun!

Done this in Ibiza, great fun. Only don’t do what I did and hit full speed then turn suddenly as you will go flying, unless of course you want to, like I did! I flew off the side and my friend off the back. It just had to be done.

There isnt a big story behind this one. I have had plenty of opportunities to ride a jetski, but I just haven’t done it. I have a feeling I may this summer, since I reside in Florida. I think it would be fun. I hope I fit on it. Otherwise, I might have to wait to ride my boy Paul’s. It has more power than some Saturn’s and Honda’s.
