I have a terrible habit of ignoring people. Not exactly on purpose, but I make eye contact and look away without any further acknowledging.
Immediately after, I feel really bad.
And so: My main goal for 2009 is to be friendly.
I’m a person who is a shy/loud mix. once I start talking I’m fine but before that…gee whiz! I’m all nervous! I got alot to say, but people are darn scary, Argh. Well not really but sometimes…
I live on a farm a few miles outside of a town with about 590 residents. There are many days when the only person I come within 20 feet of is my wife. This makes it incredibly easy to be a reclusive and introspective person. Outgoing and chatty … not so much.
So to achieve this goal, I’ll have to actually seek out people I can talk to, rather than rely on chance meetings. Phone conversations and online voice chat seems to be a logical choices to make this easier.
Text modes of communication like email and IM, feel to far removed from actual contact with people. There’s too much time delay between replies in comparison to actual voice conversations. Not the same really as having to reply to someone in a real-time conversation.
im : saeed this is my name
30 : this is my age
i like to know people from any where
im good friend
semijemme is Crazy
When I talk to people that I have long forgotten, or lost touch with I feel such a calming peace within me. I believe it just releases little bursts of happiness. Talking is one of the most personal ways to get to know someone, not by im, or email, or networking. Just talking. Its a very nice thing, I’m so glad that I have a mouth!
