I remember watching a movie where someone bought a homeless guy a nice meal. The homeless guy was so thankful, and it made my heart ache. I want to do this for a nice homeless man.
From the site that I got the picture from:
”...Secondly, this is a very rare occasion where a homeless person was actually very happy.
And the secret behind his joy? The man received a brand new pair of Dr. Martens boots. He was overjoyed with them and asked everyone around if they liked his new, red boots.”

I read about a guy in Kansas City or somewhere who would give out $100 bills around Christmas time to anyone who looked like they needed it. It would be great to be able to afford that, but I guess I’ll have to settle for buying someone a meal.

I don’t have much opportunity to do this living in such a small town, but I occasionally see a homeless person if I go shopping in a larger town, and I’ve thought about buying them a meal, but have never done it. I won’t give them money because some times (not all the time I know) they’re homeless in the first place because they’ve spent all their money on drugs/alcohol, and I will not even take the chance on my hard-earned money being wasted on such things.

I mean, REALLY – why not? As long as I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, and food to eat, I’m better off than many people.

My grandma used to do this when she worked in downtown Toronto. I really like the idea of it, but have never actually done it myself. I walk by panhandlers every day on my walk to and from work. I think I’ll buy a guy lunch tomorrow, if he wants it.
