Gina is trying to find her place in life
After a whole lot of debating, I finally made the plunge and went to a movie by myself. I had a free movie pass, so I decided to see “The Proposal” (it was one of the few movies that honored the movie pass.) I missed having someone next to me to joke with through the previews. It was hard not having someone to discuss the film with after it was through… especially as certain scenes stirred up some pretty deep thoughts and emotions. I felt so alone.
I think I may go for more of a ‘comedy’ or action film if I try this again. The whole ‘romantic’ thing makes it hard for this single gal to feel OK with being alone.

I planned on going after work, but when I told someone from work that I was going she laughed at me and said, “I’ll go with you!” It was kind of neat because I really like her but I always felt too weird bringing up the topic of hanging out outside of work because she’s 27 and I’m 19. Haha. Anyways, we had a good time. I think this will encourage me to try new things even more because good things happen!

people seem to always do in groups. I think I`d feel weird at a movie by myself, which is why I want to push myself out of my comfort zone. Also, you never know who you could meet. ;)
I`m possibly going to try and go tomorrow night, which is a Saturday night so the theatre should be pretty packed…

It’s telling that I don’t even remember which film I saw – even though it was at the Berlin film festival, so it should’ve been awesome. Weird. I can’t say whether this is because I was in quite a state during the entire experience (think: rabbit and headlights, or: shy girl at social dance, trying to look busy) or because there was nobody to share laughs or to whisper with, nudge, do excited film discussion afterwards. It’s good that I finally gathered the courage to go by myself, but I’d rather take my friends – and luckily, they’re as enthusiastic about movies as I am.

I try to avoid going to the movies at all costs b/c I hate running into old acquaintances. I rarely even go with friends. So yeah, it’s gonna be hard to work up the balls to do this. But I kind of want to see Step Brothers.

its not the same as having someone there to share the experience with but still worth doing.

That’s exactly how I felt about going to watch a movie by myself. But in the end it’s totally worth it.
1. You can really watch whatever you like without considering anyone else
2. You can eat whatever you want in the movie without feeling guilty or sharing
3. You don’t have to worry about whether or not another person is enjoying it (if you chose it)
Will def do this more often

Today I’ve been to my first movie alone!
It was fun and wasn2t weird at all, accept that I didn’t know what to do during the break (yes, here in turkey, we have a break in the middle of the movie)
I’ll get this goal done when I go to a movie by myself AGAIN! Just to make sure that I won’t give it up :)
edit: it wasn’t the sex and the city movie, it was a movie by cam. diaz and a. kutcher (what happens in vegas)
