O after coming up with a great idear, and doing all the legwork and research..the very last thing i looked at truned out to be a huge problem. After considering our options, me and BF pulled out of the business, but the others decided to continue. The are still not off the ground, and as far as i can tell, not much progress has been made since we steped back.
Some recent law xhanges have made me even more pleased that we did not continue down that path. I always thing that the sign of a good business person is knowing when to pull out of something.

Meanwhile, we opened our eyes, and took a look at the success ful business we were already running, decided to concentrate on what we know, and basically doubled the capacity of the company. At the moment we are at the end of the process, which has included re-branding and re-structuring the way the business works.

Result: well, we have only just got to the point where everything is running smoothly, and so far, it is panning out great! Now just have to manage the business and keep up with all the extra paperwork i have managed to create for myself (which is why i have been away from 43T for so long!)

    Fear 4 years ago

Do you ever get that feeling of anticipation, mixed with a little dread, knowing something is about to happen…but just a little bit unsure about how it’s going to turn out?

Well, im there, right now. Its like getting to the top of a hugemongus cliff, standing there with closed eyes, too scared to open them, afraid of the view.

I feel like we have got so much done, put so many hours into this thing, i almost dont want to do the final bits and peices, just incase it fails, and even deeper, just in case it works.

Its that old friend, the fear of success. This is one thing i must get over. As Nike says “JUST DO IT!”

And the fear of success, well, it really is a deep dark thing that broods inside my soul. Its only on days like today, days when im alone with my thoughts, its only then that this niggling thing comes out to play. Its not a problem when im surrounded with people…

On the bright side, and on another level altogether, we are so close to finishing everything, its so exciting…i can hardly wait…

I feel it in my bones 4 years ago

as every day goes by, i am getting closer and closer to my goal, we have kicked into second gear, and it is soooo very exciting! However i have to remember to keep my feet on the ground, not expect it to happen overnight, this process WILL take years to achieve.

We are now being optimistic and secertly planning to have a targget date of 16 dec for the business to be trading!!!!!!!! and I do believe it is possible.

We had a huge weekend, spend pretty much the whole weekend completing our process mapping (have to work on weekends as one of the four of us still works for “the man” and thus cant be here during weekdays.

And to top it off, i found this amazing book at the library, written by a very successful business man, and we are following his plan, before we knew what it was. Very encouraging. Very.

So all we are waiting on are the contracts from the lawyer (hint to anyone starting a business: do not use the best lawyer in town, as he is the best, he will have haeps of clients and therefore will take abosolutly frigging ages to do anything!)...and our printing ie business cards etc.

    Oh its soooo exciting!!!!!!!!!

where am i at with my plan? 4 years ago

OK, so we have got the first business idea, have formed a company, now doing the business process mapping to ensure we have dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s. i estimate we will be up an running before jan 1.

The next business idea we have is also being mapped out at present…it involves the same 4 people, so we are woking on the other one first, but this one shows promise too.

have expanded bf’s business, it’s a strange one and way to complicated to explain, but we have pretty much created the capacity to double our turnover – which is huge for a company of our size.

As for property, well as you can see from the previous paragraphs, im rather busy at the moment…dont really have time to find any property deals, but have few plans for the future…also have another group of friends who are interested in property deals, we are casually hunting around for any potential interesting things.

That’s where im at right now. looking at all what ive written, kind of makes me see what ive been up to over the past 6 months…seems like ive acieved heaps – yay!here’s to the next 6

my strategy so far 4 years ago

bring a group of friends with a similar plan together, form a company and start our own business, with the goal to be ‘the man’ ie woring ON the business not IN it

repeat this a few times making sure to involve as many different people and business ideas as possible, and making sure that the people involved are useing their talents and skills to the maximum

get our home mortgage free as soon as possible…the less interest we have to pay on that loan the better

buy and develop more property until we are the proud owners of the dream home we long for.

am i working for the man right now? 4 years ago

I guess in a way, i am….i have tried to cut down on the major areas in which i lack absolute control, but some are impossible. like paying taxes. paying taxes to ‘the man’ is not the most fun part of my life, but it has to be done. the key is to pay as little as legally possible. paying tax does usually mean money has been made so most times it is all good.

I have stoped being employed by ‘the man’ and am now working on a personal strategy to ensure i wont ever have to go back to work for ‘the man’.

Who is 'the man'? 4 years ago

‘the man’ is anyone who you answer to, an employer, the government, aqnyone with more control over a situation than you.

The man is not ment to be a sexist term, and down with that PC billshit anyway! The man can be a woman, or a man, a group of people or a company…absolutly anyone or anything.
