i really just don’t want to be like my dad.
he’s in his forties, and his parents still pay his bills!
they have total control over him, but he’s kinda weaning himself away from them.

after university, i want to be able to buy my own flat, and get a good job. that means that i’ll have to save like crazy during those four years, which possibly means no sorority. :[

but i definitely don’t want to rely on my parents for money.

and i also don’t want to be poor.

I think I’ll be able to call myself financially independent when I can no longer have to count on the child support to be deposited into my account.

I ducked under my first goal. A few more months and I’ll be through with the second, then I’m down to credit cards. After that, things will go much quicker. Things have finally started snowballing and I’m feeling a little less pressure.

I’ve paid off some of my N.I contributions. But I still have quite a big shortfall. I’m going to wait to finish paying it off, though, because it’s not my biggest priority at the moment and I need to wait until I enough money that I won’t miss it.

But: unfortunately, I was mistaken about being on emergency tax! So no tax refund for me. How annoying!

Otherwise, I need to get a new job but somehow I haven’t managed to bring myself to start job hunting yet. It’s because I know I want to do something different but at the moment I don’t have a 100% clear idea what, or how I’m going to go about it. What I need to do (and probably the sooner the better) is brainstorm the kind of work I’d like to do and how to find it!

1. repay debts, and get rid of credit cards
2. increase savings
3. invest savings well – which means doing the research and not just because it sounds like a good deal

Ok, signed up for this one. At the moment, about 2000 PLN (~900$) debt, which is a lot of money for me. I’m a student and I work as well (1500 PLN, ~700$ monthly). Spend less, save more. The most worrying fact is that I study at the best university of economics in Poland and I have problems with money. But hey, problems are to be solved :)
