read a poem in public

...is the name of the poetry event I attended last night. The slam finals were held at a local bar. The poets were amazing, and the audience was extremely supportive. When one dude couldn’t remember his next line, the audience encouraged him until he found his place again. When I do get around to writing a poem, I’ll be eager to read it now.

I recently interviewed a renowned spoken-word artist. He told me the dos and don’ts of performance poetry. Now I just need to write a poem. There’s a poetry night called “Black on Black Rhyme” where I can read it.
