oceanartista is done weeding mum's garden!!!
I have tickets. I am working out the hard part now. Figuring out what places to visit:)
How I did it: I studied abroad from Elizabethtown College. I spent 5 months in Sydney, Australia. I saved up for awhile and got in all the paper work early. I also did a l of research about Sydney and the colleges around that area before I made my decision. Read how I did it…
How I did it: As a Canadian, I registered with SWAP.ca, and through them got a year long working VISA, and help with accommodations and finding work. I headed down to Oz at the end of November. It took me a week and a half to find a place to live, and I actually found a job in the first few hours of looking. My roommate on the other hand looked for 2.5 months then gave up. I have been working in Sydney for the past 4 months and … Read how I did it…

My brother lives in Sydney, and has just become a father for the first time. So I would love to go and visit them there, as well as see the country. But first, I must learn to scuba dive, so that while I am there I can dive the great barrier reef. It could take a while to save for the scuba course and the trip – 2 years maybe?
tdhilltx21 is getting it going!!!
I’ve traveled to four continents already and want to see all seven. Only Australia, South America, and Antarctica remain. I can get the last two with a trip to Argentina. I live in Dubai now and travel to Indonesia frequently. I should be able to squeeze in a trip to Australia sometimes (after paying off credit cards and getting slim so I can look great on the beach).
So I said Australia, but I guess my aim over the last couple years changed a bit. I just returned from New Zealand with my boyfriend and had the most amazing time. I would love to move there, but I think there’s a dog quarantine…eeeeck. I was briefly in Australia, for a layover, but that does not count. I will make it there eventually, but it’s not the top of my list currently. My boyfriend lived in Australia for a year, and he wants to eventually return for a visit…eventually…
I am not going to be able to travel abroad during college, but at some point after i graduate, i would really love to go to Australia. I have always wanted to visit since i was little, and hopefully one day i will get the chance.
joyceann616 is very pleased with herself right now.
This will more than likely be a 3 to 4 year goal.
I want to be able to travel to Australia. It’s been a dream of mine for years. I love the accents and everything about it.
I graduated in August and have been tied down to a 4-year tennis scholarship in school but for the first time in my life I’m free with no obligations! I’ve been living in the same city my whole life and want to get out on my own and try something new. I want to grow and just do it, instead I have so many fears/worries holding me back, such as money, loneliess, homesickness, how long will I be gone, etc. But It keeps me at home, bitter about not trying these things that I want to do. I moved to Boston for 2 months but came back home because I felt guilty because I was away from my bf. I’ve been back home for 2 months now and still feel the desire to leave again, the relationship is also not working out so much and I regret my coming back home..so I think I need to just honor that and be confident in my ability to be independent and find a job in a new country. I am qualified for many things and am not worried about that, the fear of the unknown is powerful. I have a friend in Australia doing the exact same thing, simply exploring herself; perhaps I should take advantage of having someone over there I know in the same circumstances which may ease the transition for me. But I will never know unless I try.
I heard there are very cute boys there! But I really do just want to see the country.
TessaHope is optimistic.
I leave Kentucky on July 17th! I can’t wait!
