I dumped everything out. There were chopsticks, measuring spoons, serving spoons, steak knives AND an organizer. Also, three separate styles of silverware. I threw it out (well, not really, i stored it in my china hutch). I put my good, real silverware in the organizer. I inherited this from my gong-gong when i got married. It’s beautiful. My boys and I deserve to use this beautiful silver everyday.

How I did it: The best thing to do is to take out absolutely everything in a certain place: eg. under the bed, all the contents of a drawer, or one shelf, and tip it out on the floor. Then you can see everything you have and sort it into a discard, recycle, and keep pile. Plus, it means you put what's left back neatly.I just focused on one area everyday, and this is as good as its going to get. Read how I did it…

I started VERY small. I took an evil little drawer in my kitchen. This evil eye and toothsore houses CANDY. Candy from Halloween, Christmas, Easter, gum from every shopping trip my kids go on with me. Nutri grain and Quaker bars leftover from the lunches tat my ex sister in law packs. THEY DO NOT LIKE THESE! But, I, being the person who feels full when I have A LOT….does not throw out. There is also TRASH in this evil drawer. Gun wrappers, smarties wrappers, half eaten See’s chocolate balls from Christmas, stale (gross) peanut butter malted milk balls…...............
I dumped it all and sorted into three zip loc bags
1. Energy bars and things of that nature
2. Gum
3. The rest
Easy Does It
I’ve got a lot nearer clearing my clutter by blitzing it. I’ve attacked it bit by bit, cleaning, sorting and putting away as I go. I hope to have finished by next week.
I’m getting rid of a lot of my books by putting them on a website called Green Metropolis. You put in the ISBN number and say what the condition is and they sell it for about 3.50 and you get 3.00 (less postage) of that. I’ve sold about two but it is a bit slow right now what with Christmas being only just over and everyone being short of cash.
I live in a state of chaos. I’ve been trying to clear it up for several weeks now and it just seems to get worse. I’ve been concentrating on clearing certain spaces and then keeping them clear. Hopefully with Christmas coming up I will have time to finish it.

If there was a monster under my bed, I’d never be able to find it.
Too much junk.
I think I’ll clear it out tomorrow, and get rid of everything I didn’t even realise might be under there – clearly, if I didn’t miss it, it’s not worth keeping.
Status Report 1:
- Sent a smallish mountain of clothes off to the recyling centre, c/o my Dad.
- Got rid of a load of unnecessary paper from underneath my bed.
Currently, I’m thinking of clearing out the bottom section of my cupboard, and bringing order to my ‘miscellaneous clothing’ drawer.
Status Report 2:
- Got rid of the rest of the unwanted paper under my bed. I think I shall count that as done.
- Cleared out my cupboards, and found a lot of really exciting things in the process. Most of which I threw away.
Is now wonderfully relatively cleared. I threw away the huge clutter collecting surface of my computer desk (i. e. its in the hallway…) – I’ve never worked there anyway. Under the bed: Nothing, – so nothing can collect dust! I am really looking forward to going to bed tonight!

that i am going to sell some things on ebay but ‘fat chance’ seems to be the obvious truth. So planning a little yard sale for the first week of Sept. Inviting some friends and their clutter and whatever is left ill call the local charity pick up. YAY YARD SALES.
I’m now doing the one in- one out – so that when I bought myself a new computer, I handed in the old one right away. Have thrown away a lot of my closet – but unfortunalety I still have a way to go as for clearing particular areas, but I think I’m better at the continuous clearing”
Ok my house is driving me nuts. I can litterly have the house clean and with in 12 – 14 hours it feels as though it is all a big mess.
I want to have our main lounge completely decluttered and well organised.

But fun.
The more I get rid of the more I realize how relaxing it is to not be surrounded by stuff.
I starts with organizing a drawer, cleaning a cupboard, reorganizing a book shelf. I am limiting myself to keeping only ten books i have already read. Of coures i have dozens I haven’t read yet but I’m adding that to my list today :)
