It has been dead here in the Twin Cities for acting for the longest time but I have gotten two print gigs and have made great $$ for the work. Go figure…what is up with dat?

Tomorrow I have a Quest commercial audition. At least I get to audition with a friend actor I know. She’s pretty cool so I think we’ll do well together.
I got booked to do an anti-smoking ad and was excited to do the print job. Then at the last minute my agency called me to tell me that I was wanted to be the guy with the cigarette in his mouth during the shoot. I said no immediatlly. Lindsay was not happy. I could tell through the phone. But I wasn’t told up front weeks ago when they asked me. The buyer waited till the last night before to tell us. I don’t care how good the money was. I would never pose that way because of “perception” from kids. They may not look at it as an anti-smoking ad. They may not read it but yet see me “smoking”in it. I have never even put a cig up to my mouth before. Not into it. They’ll be other oppurtunities down the road. I’m sure of it. Move on!
I’m waiting to hear if I got a callback on the 3M Commercial. It shoots on Dec 13, 14, or 15th they said….come ON!!!!
So I didnt get the Nissan gig last week. Whatever. God might have something else in store for me and I have to be fine with that. However, I do have Scotch Tape commercial audition this coming Tuesday. It shoots the middle of December. I better freakin get this job so that I can get qualified for our SAG insurance. Medical insurance for our family of four through SAG would be only $75 a quarter. We are paying $450 each month right now…pray for me people that I get the gig. Thanks!
Yesterday was my 38th birthday and a great gift was getting a callback on a Nissan commercial I auditioned for last week. I went in there and read for 3 different characters so I’m hoping I’ll get the gig for one of them. It shoots on Thursday and Friday. The best gift would be to actually book the job. I’m letting God be my agent these days. I mean my agent does good work getting me the auditions when they come up in the Twin Cities here, but I want God to touch the hearts of the casting director and the buyers to see my talent and that I can do good work for them and their product. In this case: Nissan.
