ISO install was surprisingly pain free. Solaris 10×86 working as on a test workstation. Maybe I’ll keep it as a stable platform for home.

any previous version I’ve used. Yes it’s still a work station / server os, but with gnome, It’s usability has gone up ten fold.
I have to admit I’m bias.

Downloaded the ISOs from sun.com, making cygwin and wget do all the heavy lifting. Burned CD1, installed on a relatively up to date computer, and the installer just worked. Very impressed, I had expected a lot of fiddling would be required for my no-brand box.
Got up to a console login. But have run out of disk space to put useful things on to make it into a useable workstation.
