Go back to Big Bend.

i haven’t been there in soooo long, and there is just something about the place- you can just sink into the sunsets and forget about everything else that has ever bothered you. i miss hiking up the chisos mountains- and seeing that ocean of big fluffy brown grass (does it still grow there?) and knowing when i see it- i’ve made it. i miss going to marfa- hearing that crazy lady talk about the marfa lights. i miss going to fort davis and the soda shop there- is it still there?? beautiful country!

I miss the donkey that took me across the Rio Grande. I miss the small, Mexican town where I ate lunch and drank soda from glass bottles. I also miss hiking for hours to enjoy the silence on the top of the peak. I want to sit around a campfire there, among the javalinas.

The most isolated place in the U.S. outside of Alaska. 1 million acres of pristine wilderness.
