...and I still need to work out. I do have fitness goals and I would like to lose weight – but truly it’s more about being healthy. In NYC – I can’t help but exercise – I have to walk everywhere. Everyday. I know that I don’t want to go back to a completely sedentary lifestyle once I go back to my hometown – where everyone drives everywhere instead.
My mom was telling me about the low rates one of the local gyms has – so I’m going to check that out. Time to get it together before the summer!

With what I’m making right now, I just can’t afford to do this. Plus there’s the “I’m tired” factor. I admire people who can take their work-out clothes to work and then go from the office to the gym and THEN go on home to get ready for the next day. But, honestly, I’m just not up to it. When I was living down South, I worked out after work – but down there I had a car.
I have exercise DVDs so I’ll just have to rely on them for now.

Yesterday, I saw a picture of Jennifer Anniston in a teeny hot pink bikini and I shed a tear. Her body? Amazing.
Now of course, I am not so delusional that I think that by going to the gym my body can will like hers. Nice dream, but I know it ain’t happening.
Still, before I moved to NYC, I was going to the gym often. And I had lost weight. I was eating healthier than I am now. And even though I was tired and feeling lazy and many days, simply did NOT want to go, I went and I got results.
I realize that I need to go back. I haven’t gained all the weight back or anything. I just need to reintroduce myself to regular exercise. Even though I do a lot of walking around the city, I am overall sedentary. I want to be more active and fit.
But, truth be told, I resent feeling like this. I wish that I was one of those girls who didn’t have to work out. I wish I could wake up and have my dream body. But for me, I realize that it’s going to take work. Hard work. And I’m definitely not a fan of that.
I don’t want to go, but I need to go. Ugh…

I have a very loving wonderful fiance who goes to the gym EVERY SINGLE day and he loves me enough to push me and help me every step of the way – eventhough i’ve been kicking in screamin! The thing is, my mind is still set in the ‘i haaaaattttteee the gym!’ but really, as soon as I’m done I feel so much better! I started at 24hr fitness 3 weeks ago and have been going 3-4 days a week and will soon be pushing that up to a daily 4-6 day routine. I’m so glad i started and so thankful to have full support. I definitely would not be able to do it w/o him! :)

I joined on the day I was going to. It cost $100 for the two months I’ll be here. I hope to go for the first time tomorrow or Friday. They have yoga classes too.

I know the gym I want to go to. It’s near my house, it’s $99 for the two months I’ll be home, and it has fitness classes. I will sign up tomorrow!
I want to go three times a week. I want to lose 5-10 pounds, gain some self-esteem, and gain some energy and confidence.
