I’ll keep learning and I’ll keep trying to play better, but I have my own site and blog so there’s no value keeping a diary about it on this site.
Won my first Multi Table Tournament of the year. It was Freeroll (which means it was free to enter), with 184 entrants playing for a $200 prize pool.
Woohoo!
I started playing online poker at the start of the year and discovered all these freeroll tournaments where you can earn real money if you place well (top 1-10%).
From no money down, I’m proud to report I’ve learnt enough patience to build up to a $6.22 bankroll (4 times in the money)! Need to improve my strategy to have a big enough stack to make it to the final table or at least the final 1% more consistently.
Also I started a blog to track and record my progress.
Well seing as I’ve been failing in my goal to update my poker website every week, I’d better do a quick update here.
3 weeks into 2006 and with a starting bankroll of £100, I cashed out £200 profit back into my bank account last sunday, another £200 this Sunday and I’m currently up £200 this week after coming 2nd of 258 entrants in last night’s $3 re-buy tournament.
Again, I’m not going to use this site for detailed analysis but for the moment at least I’m very satisfied with my progress.
Today was my first official day of playing better poker. I entered 2 Single Table Tournaments (known as STTs, they usually have either 9 or 10 entrants. I played a $1 and a $5 tournament) and 2 Multi Table Tournaments (MTTs are great big tournaments, usually with 100s of entrants. I played in 2 60 cent buy-in tournaments).
I’m not going to keep a record of my play on here, as I have my own poker site at www.imallin.co.uk, but I’m pleased to report that I staked $7.70 on entry fees today, and won $13.83 in prize money – a modest profit of $6.13, but a profit nontheless. I was especially pleased to come 6th out of 259 players in my 2nd MTT.
No idea. I only ever play low stakes poker, because I’m worried about losing loads of money if turns out I’m rubbish. I reckon I play a decent game – “tight/aggressive” as they say. I know when and why and how much to bet. To this point, I have played about 30,000 hands online and now I’m ready to see if I can actually make any money playing the game.
