well it took awhile, but ive finally recovered nearly all the lost muscle from my knee injury (why did they have to make knee caps breakable?) and im proud to say i think my skill level is now higher than it was before i hurt myself. i finally found a good place to practice close to where i live too.

I’ve been practicing rolls off of a chair on my hardwood floors. The rolls hurt my shoulder where it starts and a bit of my pelvis where it ends. Any tips?
I’m new, and picking out shoes soon. What are some things I should look for in a good parkour shoe?
I’m not good at anything yet, but I’m getting better with everything.
I suspect this goal will never be finished, and that’s good. Always new things to learn.

I went to look for some good parkour shoes. I actually want to do free running more than parkour, but I have to start out with parkour because I am so weak and inept I need all the practice I can get. There’s not a lot of great parkour shoes, even at the fifteen shoe shops at my nearest mall, but I think I have an okay pair. Some pumas look really good, but it’s hard to find any light shoes with a wide AND grippy sole. Above all, I probably wouldn’t get any nikes but maybe there are some good light ones.
So, crap, there aren’t any parkour communities nearby me, as far as I know. I live in a smallish town, and there are some people I know who might be interested in it, but I don’t think they have a lot of time, and the weather is pretty heinous. Also, I need someone who has experience to help me build a good easy workout that won’t take longer than an hour or so. I can’t spend all my time on parkour, obviously, but it’s so sweet, I want to learn good technique.
...so much, but still from far away.
I jump in the trampoline with the kids… at least is something!
the main thing holding me back is stamina. i should start running everyday for as long as i can. and track how long i can continuously run. once the stamina builds back up, i should be able to start adding ‘finesse’ to my runnings.
I had some friends at university who started practicing parkour, but unfortunately I’ve lost contact with them. I plan on taking some classes, just discovered there’s a parkour class at Lapa in Rio de Janeiro, might take a look.
so my knee injury is finally healed. ive been out of action for about three months so im a lil rusty, but a little bit of work and i should be back to top shape.
