Fairies are beautiful, pretty, and perfect there always there when you need them. I want to see Fairies so i can meet them. Draw them and even talk to them. I can see Mermaids just a little bit and i know i will get more advanced at it.

...that I want to see. After the screecher monkey experience Tuesday night, I did a little research. I have a book about fairies etc. so I did a little cross-referencing and came up with a creature called the skadegamutc that lives in the forests of North America:
“The skadegamutc is the name of a demon in the folk beliefs and legends of the Micmac Native American people. These devils inhabited the forests and would terrify solitary travelers by following them and giving an eerie shriek in the woods. Even more disturbing was their ability to blend with the shapes of the trunks of the trees, so that humans could not catch sight of them.”
~from Spirits, Fairies, Leprechauns and Goblins: an Encyclopedia by Carol Rose
No matter that the Micmac lived more in New England. Part of our local legend could be that they’ve migrated a little south and west. Besides, this is exactly how we were describing the screecher monkeys to each other and working up the horror of them in our minds!

a “fairy house” at the cemetery the other day. In the roots of an old tree was a hole that went down in the dirt, the opening surrounded by moss. It looked like a wooden cave. I showed Ce and said, “Look, a fairy house!” and she said, “There are fairies at grandma’s house, too.” And I said, “I’ve seen them!” Wish I’d had my camera that day…
