Aurogil is working on a second quilt

    Untitled 4 months ago

I’ve learned to make the top part – learning the lingo, putting the pieces together, etc. Now i still have to learn how to make what they call the sandwich part of it which is putting together the top (the pretty designed part), the batting and the back (usually one big piece of fabric). And then learn how to do the stitching part or what is the quilting.
I’ve made one quilt top and working on my second. Many ladies just make lots of quilt tops and when they need a gift they will have someone else do the quilting part. Usually someone who has the big industrial size machines. i’d like to know how to do it and make a decision about that part after i’ve at least tried it. my goal is to make a quilt for each of my children and one each for my nieces (don’t have any nephews) and for each of my sisters (only two).
i had thought i would wait until i retired to do learn to do this, but so many sick people at work lately (cancer, etc.) that it made me realize why wait – what if for some reason i never get to retire and i never got to do this – SO
