Ok, so for my Birthday this year, one of my best friends suprised me with an old Postal Jeep that needs to be restored.
It definately needs a lot of work, but I plan to document here…
Pictures will follow!
OK, so it isn’t my Olds 442…
I have the old pickup truck that my Father in Law gave to me.
I Love this little truck!! It’s a 1991 GMC sonoma 1/4 ton.
Ok, Ok, so it’s not even close to being a classic. Still, it’s my first show at restoring ANYTHING!
I still need to get my Garage cleared out and organized, (see another one of my things!), but once I do, I can start!
This is going to be my winter project this year.
I have always wanted to find and restore an Olds 442. I had a boss when I first started working that had one. Above his desk at work, he had a picture of his car at the drag strip doing a burnout. That picture has stuck with me, and everytime I think of musclecars, I think of the way that 442 looked.
That would be my vehicle of choice. I believe his was a 1969. I like the 1970 version with the hoodscoops.
I want to find a 1969 Dodge Charger, preferably blue, but I’ll take what I can get, and restore it to driveable condition. I’ve always thought the Charger to be the prettiest of the muscle cars, and have long dreamed of owning one.
