Start my Christmas Shopping

have bought a few things for jim’s mom…but i need to start getting busy…

I will finish. Before Christmas. Really!

Had a marathon girlie shopping trip yesterday and shamefully bought one pressie (for my dad) and a ton of stuff for me. Oops! All fun, though :) Besides, you can’t argue with work clothes and some undies.

The good thing is I do now know what I’m getting people, so it’s just a case of tracking a few slightly more obscure items. And, urm… paying my dad for the present he’s away to buy himself next week, from me! lol!

Just a few minor, and a couple of major, things to pick up now.

Nine hours! Probably over half done now, at least.

I had a full day out christmas shopping yesterday. Managed to get most of the things I was after and am definately getting closer to the end of my list. By the time I got home I was very hot and bothered and a good soak in the tub was in order.

Had fun (NOT) in the hardware store looking for an angle grinder. Hubby told me this was the only thing he really wanted for christmas, as he had some jobs to do over the holidays around the house and one would definately come in handy. Soooooooo off I trot yesterday to the big hardware store with absolutely no clue what I was in fact looking for and I’m sure the salesmen saw a “dumb blonde with no clue” radar light start flashing when I walked in!!!!

After some time I did manage to find a salesmAn who seemed to have some sympathy for my total lack of knowledge and he explained everything to me in verrrrrrrrry simple terms and I finally made a purchase. I only hope when the present gets opened I don’t get the “what the hell did you buy me this one for?” look!!!!

Ahhhh…....the joys of giving! :)

I managed to get a good start on this while spending the whole week in the city. I purchased 4 things from eldest daughters list and 3 things from youngest daughters list, got a gorgeous piece of Royal Albert for my sister and some other little bits and pieces for other people I have to buy for.

My daughters put their christmas lists into my bag before I headed off for the week, and I just had to laugh when I found them and read them through. I really wish I had a scanner so I could post them here to show you all…...note from eldest daughter on the bottom of her list went like this….

Mum, I realllly want a mobile (cell phone) this Chirstmas PLEASE (in capitals with lots of love hearts around the please)! I will be SO SO SO GOOD (in huge lettering, bolded and in capitals) and I just wanted 2 let you know I love you (more hearts), then she signed her name (to make the list very official I guess) and printed her full name under her signature.

Youngest daughters list was very long and in point form with lots of notes as to which was the real favourite thing, lots of arrows and notations added to the end of the list. For example….number four on her list was as such
No. 4 Harry Potter Lego
Not just any Harry Potter lego though mum, numbers 4709, 4729 (bolded and underlined), 4728, and 4707 are the ones I’d really like the most. The notation beside this one reads….Angela (her best friend) tells me you may not be able to get these anymore in the stores, so you might have trouble finding them.

Ahhh…..gotta love kids at this time of year :))

and the girls are counting the days already!!

I need to get moving and start making lists and getting myself organised. I have a couple of things which I have made myself during the year which will go to special friends, but I have no family presents organised yet at all.

Note to self: Get moving on this one girl!
