answer questions in my computer science classes

i had to make myself stand out from the boys. i proved to my profs that i knew my stuff and i took it seriously (but not too seriously) and i could hold my own against all those boys!

i’m afraid of saying something stupid, though i guess everyone does occasionally. but if i answer one question and get it wrong, then i’ll be too embarrassed to answer another and my failure rate will be 100% forever.

i feel like it’d be more noticeable for me to answer incorrectly than for other people since i’m usually the only or one of the few females so i’m more noticeable already. and i feel that as one of the few females, a lot of responsibility is on me to represent my sex well by not saying stupid stuff.

another thing i am afraid of is that if i answer one question or a few questions, that will make it seem like i don’t know the answers to other questions i don’t respond to. that’s why it is easier to have a policy of not answering any questions. not that most people probably notice i have such a policy.

anyway, i think if i could answer questions and have them go decently, it would be good for my confidence. and probably good in other ways too.
