write for a sit-com

It’s got funny potential, but It’s no “30 Rock”, of course. I can’t convince an agent that I’m versatile by submitting 10 different scripts for the same damn show.

I’m really smitten with It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. It’s hilarious, but it may be too dark for my sample.

The new script is underway. I’ve read as many “How I Met Your Mother” scripts as I could get my hands on. Ideas abound. Working to try and sketch out three. My partners doing the other three, we should have a outline/beat sheet ready to go by the weekend and then the party starts.

He read my script and though he liked it, he had plenty of constructive criticism for me. Sigh, in a hurry to get the edits in and another script underway

Now I’ve got to call them and get them to read my spec script.

My partner and I rewrote the spec script, and sent it to a producer whose address was given to me by chance. Hell he might throw the script away, but at least its out there. I’ve got some query letters to get out the door and then I’ve got to get my other script ready for the Nickolodian fellowship at the end of the month.

I’ve got a 30 Rock spec script done. I’ve entered the ABC fellowship application again. Having not heard back, I’m going to send it to some producers.

Been losing sleep writing a newer sleeker script. Still needs work, but the draft is good.

I’m going to write an episode of “Everybody Hates Chris”. It’ll take me about six dedicated weeks, once the DVD’s come out. Okay, maybe it’ll take eight weeks—I’m training for a marathon.

My current system is going pretty well. I have a fairly complete first draft. It may be missing a scene or two. I print out the act I’m working on and then I make changes on the hard copy all day. At night I input the changes and then I print and repeat the next day. I do my original story expansion at lunch time. And on the weekends. Act One is about 5 hours away from being good.
