How I did it: I started over a year ago my membership together with a friend. I knew from the beginning that the gym wasn't really my thing, still I got a membership because going to the gym with a friend is better than no sport at all. The first 3 months went really well. We went 3 times a week most weeks, and I stopped watching my diet and ate tons of fast food because hey, I went to the gym so often, surely some unhealthy food wasn't a problem... My mistake! After 3 months my friend backed out, I was on my own to go to the gym... A few weeks I did well on going, but after that I hardly ever went (and I still ate the same amount of unhealthy snacks and fastfood as at the beginning of my membership). A few months later I discovered a few other friends were also member to the same gym, so I went with them but it wasn't the same, I didn't get my motivation back on track... I started working in a daycare so I got my amount of excercising regularly, I hardly went to the gym, maybe once or twice a month, way to less for a full membership! I'm really glad my membership finally ends within 2 days! I've planned to go with my sister one last time, hand in my card and never ever set one foot inside that place again! It was a waste of money because I didn't attend frequently and I'm much fatter than I was last year. Read how I did it… 19 months ago
