Own a home in the mountains

I’d like to live there year round. I have the picture in my mind of unexpected deer in the yard, giant butterflies flitting about, manageable amounts of seasonably appropriate snow, waterfalls in walking distance, a quaint town nearby with cool festivals and artistic hippies, and lots of fall color.
