I started to make a budget but I haven’t put much of an effort into it – just the obvious things like rent and utilities. I haven’t put much thought into how much I spend per week on groceries or whatever. It varies.

Hello I finally set up a budget for this upcoming ( like tomorrow) month
I’ll be busy, evolving and achieving a great deal of my life time goals?
Ok I’ll give you the categories and percentage I’ve chosen for my first in a long time budget.
But with this budget goes a little list of behaviours:
- staying away from the ATM
- making list before hand of what I’ll be buying in any category
- try not to spend everything in the first two weeks…
- go to the ATM only once ( that will be hard)
I’m not sure where i will put all the decoration for my room, and cars but
I truly need to keep tracks of what I’m going to spend from this moment on.
I’m saving for some other goals like
- school
- travels
- car payment
- emergency fund
Category Pct.
Housing 20%
Utilities 5%
Food 10%
Transport 40%
Clothing 4%
Personal 5%
Savings 5%
Debt 6%
Subtotal
Medical 5%
Total 100%
Mind you I used up all my last year savings in a matter of 2 months.
So I need to reconstruct that.
I owe a ¼ of my take home pay to my bank!!!!!!!!!! (never again)
I also need an emergency fund worth 2 months of take home pay.
My car needs to be paid back in full
Hopefully I already have a retirement fund, and some savings I cannot touch before the end of the contract… I think I’ll up the amount a little bit like double..
And I want to open an account for buying a house.. you know a saving plan…
But that’s after I run that budget for a full month
So july…. This account opening is for YOU

I guess if i don’t start doing it before i’ll always fall behind..
I’ve not done the budget and the money is going at a fast pace.is it too late for may? but it is too early for june..
well I guess I’ll do it for june.. and try to up my savings at the same time…
I’m writing it here at work…
but what will happen the minute I reach home?
ok ok tonight I’m going to make that real effort to set up a budget no matter how tired I am…
and tomorrow we shall see..

i think this is my first goal…
I really need to stop spending my money like that..
i want to save money for travels, buying a home and so on..
but before I can do that I need to be able to stick to a budget so the other things would just flow naturally.. I hope.
So first I need to set up a budget..
it’s the beginning of the month , just got paid.. So it’s time to save the money I just earned…
huh.. minus what I have already spend… well I’m a real trip…
let me go back to setting up the budget and then we shall see how I would respect it….....
I’ll keep you posted..

I’m not following a super-strict budget, but let’s just say I’ve improved my financial practices and awareness of how much I spend, on what, and how that can be improved. Very worth it.

So I started by making an excel spreadsheet to help me follow my budget and I plan on tracking all my spending for 2 months then using those figures to figure out what areas I can cut some spending and if I really just need to make more money or live with my parents again. That would be fun. I need to find a better job. There is a goal!!!

So I guess if I am actually going to use this list to help me accomplish goals, I better start somewhere. So here is number one on the list. I wonder…I be back on this one later.
