My first time betting I won 300 something dollars! My only lucky time. You get a thrill out of winning and shouting for your horse. Try going one time during the day and at night. Being out there during the night is more fun for me.

Living in the city that’s home to Churchill Downs, I’ve always played around a bit with betting on the ponies, even as a child when my family would have a $1 pool and draw horses for the Derby. This year, though, my man has been taking me to races at Keeneland and Churchill Downs more often (he’s a bit of a gambler), and I’ve started to learn more about how wagering really works. What I’ve REALLY learned, though, is this: never take more money to the track than you will be comfortable losing, and trust your instincts! I mean, if analyzing all the details about horses in a race really worked, there wouldn’t be much of a random element to it.

I recently had my first big win at Keeneland: bet $2 across the board on a horse that went off at 80-something to 1 odds, and it had an amazing come-from-behind win that netted me $250 on a $6 bet!

I went to the races too! 2 years ago

    Hi there,
the other week and had a great
    time with my kids too.
for tips. Have found them really good, today
for example, they had 8 winners from just 14
selections in the UK. It is all based on a
    horse racing betting system.

A fun day 2 years ago

I went to the horse races with my mom and some other family. It was a really fun day.

At the end of the day I was down $6.20. Not bad.

    I’ll definately do this again.

as long as you go for the $1 bets 2 years ago

I told my roommate that I wanted to do this. I convinced him that it could be really fun. We’re going to go sometime soon!

I had no idea what I was doing. I prefer Bingo for gambling.

Chuq (username: yakuza) I thought I was busy before!

Not too bad 2 years ago

I had fun betting although I had no idea what I was doing. I think I’d do it again too. I think the first time I went was when I was a sophomore in high school. I felt like I was a rebel or something ha ha.

    made plans 2 years ago

I told my mom that I want to go with her sometime. She goes fairly often and will let me know next time she is going to the races.

Theres a track much closer to where I live, but I want to go with someone familiar with the whole thing for my first trip. If I have fun I’ll drag my friends with me to the local track.
