i think i should take this off the list … even in my most blindly optimistic moments i still don’t think that this will ever happen. maybe this is what sports fans of a losing franchise refer to as “faith” ...

i’ve tried to keep the goals kinda upbeat but i think that if i were able to mark this one completed, it would be a very positive thing.
every living, breathing male in my family (and many that are now otherwise) has been unfortunate enough to serve his country in a foreign conflict of some sort. except for me … i was born in a year that would put my 4 years squarely between ‘desert storm’ and the ‘war on terror’ ... i felt lucky, at the time, to be stuck in the middle of a cornfield in Illinois. W/ the current administration i can see how truely fortunate i was.
and w/o delving into what constitues righteous, it would seem to me that there are very few reasons to go to war. cheap oil doesn’t strike me as one of these reasons.
