See manatees in the wild

We were in Florida for Spring Training and went to the Canaveral National Seashore for the manatee veiwing area. It was so cool to watch them in the water! Everyone along the platform seemed amazed that they were actually right there in front of us.

Of course, there’s also all the scars on the manatees which reminded me that they live dangerous lives. Florida is looking at downgrading their endangered status. Be sure to send a message to their governor if you’d like to protest this at: http://www.savethemanatee.org/actionalert.cfm?id=13
