Raise my Standards


 

How to raise my Standards by fanman

"I decided to raise my standards for myself and others, determined the source of my low standards, corrected it, QED."

How I did it: Basically I decided my standards were too low in every area of my life... but especially with women.  Really this all comes from not valuing yourself enough, since if you have high self esteem you will expect a lot from yourself and others.  So I think this goal is way to vauge to be able to determine when you've accomplished it but clearly I have higher standards now than I did before.

    High standards, yes, perfection, no! 2 years ago

    Some people have the problem that they are never, ever happy because their standards are so sky-high they are completely absurd. I have the opposite problem; in the past, I’ve had such a low opinion of myself that I settled for whoever and whatever came my way and never thought I had a right to ask if there was anything better out there for me.

    Not that I won’t take anything less than perfect, but I think I sell myself short when I don’t try harder to get the best that I can get. It’s like I don’t think enough of myself to reach for anything better than the easiest thing to grab. I am worth it and I need to start treating myself like it.
