Cut down my own christmas tree

Well it was fun. I like using plastic but Jason wanted a real one this year. so we cut a tree down :)

there is just something so magical about christmas time. something so beautiful and pure. today at work i was talking to a client of ours about christmas. how for those couple of weeks, there is something so beautiful about everyone and everything. how it brings such a warmth to your heart that only comes around christmas. sometimes i get so overwhelmed by the love i feel at christmas it literally brings me to tears. last year, i started a tradition for myself. every year when i decorate our tree, i turn off all of the lights except for the tree and all the christmas decorations and listen to michael buble christmas. it feels absolutely unreal. the soft glow of the white lights, the warmth of our house, the crackle of the fireplace, the snow falling softly on our patio, michael serenading me.. can the world get any more beautiful?

froze my hands off, but it was fun.

the last few years we’ve had live trees that you plant in the ground after christmas. This year we’re doing a cut tree. I think it might be fun to cut our own.
