So, my mother had spent an inordinate amount of time scaring the crap out of me about guns. Actually both of my parents did this with a lot of things. It was their way of protecting me. Subsequently and therefore it has caused me to go the opposite way in many things a lot later in life once I figured out how to call BS on certain items and not feel bad about it. Not trying to be disrespectful but it’s my life too and I am going to live it for better or worse, even if I shoot my eye out.

A dear and important friend of mine took me out last weekend and helped me work his deer rifle. The above listed metrics are what we ran through. It was an experience. It would be different if I had a rifle for a shorter female subject but I don’t intend on hunting deer. I don’t presume I will be investing unless I wish to shoot trap or really take to target shooting as a hobby.

Hand guns are next.

Growing up I always wanted to join the Marines and be a sniper. I dont know why but even though I’ve never even held a gun, I really want to learn how to shoot one and I wouldnt mind having a gun collection. I live in Ky so its not like gun ranges are hard to come by, lol. =)

My little brother and I were never even allowed to play with toy guns when we were little. About 4 years ago, I worked with this guy who was really into guns and NRA stuff. He took a bunch of us shooting at a friend’s house and it was SO fun! My aim is shit, but I really liked the kick of the bigger guns.
A few people have said that they want to go with me, but I can’t find anywhere near where I’m staying to go shooting.

Knowing how to shoot a gun would allow me to better protect myself.

I wouldn’t want to go alone, and I don’t know anyone who’d like to go with me.

I went to a firing range today with some friends (we’d just finished screening the rough-cut of our film, ROULETTE, and we wanted to celebrate) and shot a .45 handgun. I did pretty well, I thought, for my first time. No perfect bull’s eyes, but I did hit the target with every shot. I was offered the chance to shoot a rather huge shotgun, but declined, due to the fact that it had a quite a kick, and I am a very small person (I watched my 6-foot, 200lb+ friend get pushed back a step or two by it and said…no). It was a lot of fun, and I’d love to do it again. Thursdays are ladies’ nights (free gun rentals), so maybe I will. :)

I only wish I’d used a picture of my husband’s evil ex as my target. ;) THAT would have been very satisfying.

I can describe myself as a art and peace person and it seems a little bit wierd for me this new passion for No Reason!
but i am so feeling it and i hope i won’t hurt anyone by it and I hope i can be a good shooter and that would develop my focus and immediate reflexes :) isA…
