I need to live in France before I die. I love the language, the culture and the romance. I want to find out if it is everything I have dreamed it to be in my head. I want to determine if it is somewhere I could stay for a long time.

How I did it: Went on a very long trip, rented a house, and lived there for a few weeks. Going back next year again, with the same group of friend. Enjoying the beach, the wine and the scenery Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used all the resources I could find on the internet to research study abroad programs in order to find the one that fit what I wanted. I started planning early with plane tickets and applying for my visa. I already had a passport so that part was easy. I asked people that had been before questions and asked the company questions, and everyone I knew questions. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I did it the old-fashioned way. I married a Frenchie (and then as is the norm in France we divorced.). Anyway, there was nothing much to it, you fill out some paperwork, and then get a job. Read how I did it…

I am thinking about studying abroad in college, but what I really want is to live Hemingway-style, just drinking, writing, going to clubs and drinking coffee at cafes with sunglasses on.
i have really wanted to live in europe for a few years now. i ended going to sydney australia instead about a year and half ago with a study abroad program for 5 months – HUGE mistake. it was not the experience i was looking for what so ever for a number of reasons but i think mostly it was not the culture i was looking to surround my self with. i came back to the US thinking i would never want to do something like this again. it has been about one year since ive been back and recently i cant seem to stop thinking about how amazing it would be to have a few months in france or barcelona. i feel as though i am just so drawn to it…i love meeting europeans, watching french films, trying to speak spanish, the music, the food, the culture…
and so i want to live in france for 2/3 months initially and see how it goes :P

Ah…France. Quite a wordly place. I feel like it would be good for me because I am fascinated by the country. Their food, language, love…
That said, I don’t think I would live there full time. Perhaps during my gap year…
I am indeed going to live in France next spring. I will be in an artist-in-residence program in Lyon for 3 months. I’ve already signed up for an intermediate French grammar class and conversation class! I’m going to make the most out of my stay so that someday I can return and live more than 3 months there.

I’ve taken French since middle school. I know one day I’ll go I just have to decide when. I was actually considering going at the start of the year. Just moving into a flat for a couple of months to see how I liked it. I’ll look more into this.
