I need to program my universal remote to find the channels. I have lost or misplaced the remote that goes with the TV which has a button on it to do a channel finding scan. This would be very helpful since it is not a set that is connected to cable. I am using rabbit ears and can get a lot of channels but want to program the remote so that it will find the channels in an effort to “set up” the channel up and down buttons to automatically go to the channels available. Does anyone know how to do this?

There is nothing else I can think of it needs to do. If I do come across something, it’ll be done in an instant, so no worries.

volume is fixed.
Still need to do the other stuff. I can’t seem to find the page that had all the little icons for tv channels, it was a great resource. Now I’m bummed I can’t find it.

I’ve got to update my tivo’s channel listing. It’s missing some key HD channels, and has all the crap in it I once filtered out. EWTN, home shopping networks, spanish channels, all the digital music channels, all the channels I have 0 intention of ever watching.

volume control for the stereo (not sensative enough)
I’ve had a couple similar radio shack remotes, but the 15-2116 is wicked good. It just does what you need it to do, and you can get sick on it – it has a Jp11 plug in the back which you can make a cable and hook to your computer and use open source (free) software to completely re-write what any button does… I did this on other Jp11 remotes, but didn’t need to on the 15-2116. It goes on sale at my local radio shack from time to time for like $30.
