I’ve always collected books, and I get this from my mom. She used to go to antique places all over new hampshire specifically to look for books. She had a vast collection. Guess who she left them to when she died?
Pluses and minuses
1. Minus: They take up a lot of room
2. Minus: They require regular dusting
3. Plus: they add character to any home
4. Plus: you will have reading material until you die on whatever subject interests you (you will always add)
5. Plus: it’s also a resource for your loved ones (create a check-out system or you’ll lose them).
6. Plus: you treasure them, you really do.
7. Plus: you naturally become a smarter, more interesting person with each item you read.
8. Minus: you may spend too much time reading. Don’t forget to talk to people and do things.
9. Minus: they require a system of organization or you lose track of what you have. This takes a lot of work but some people consider it fun.
Most recent addition: complete collection of Carlos Castaneda, Whittier’s poems.
Have a good time!
