I have Salsa danced before and it is fun. Now that I’m done with school, this is another thing I would like to do in my free time.
How I did it: I signed up for lessons. I went to the Salsa Club. I asked guys to dance. I practiced at home. I signed up for lessons. I went to the Salsa Club. I asked guys to dance. Lessons & tips: If you want to become a good salsa dancer, you have practice the basic step A LOT!! Guys--if your basic step sucks, forget about all the fancy moves, your dancing is still BAD!

This is a fun group thing to do even if you can’t dance. It’s great to find someone who can lead or follow very closely, but salsa music makes you just want to move. I’ve been several times and love to every time.
My friends and I are looking for places that play salsa here in own town. We find some good ones!
- One of them are well recommended but we knew that there are “professional” people there and maybe we be embarased of dance in our lazy way.
- The other one is on Tuesdays, in the historic center. A local famous singer is in a old church stairs playing for free every week (the same church that appers on “The Promiss Keeper” movie).
- The last option is in a good bar, for a Saturday night. But on weekends we have to meet the guys and our boyfriends and I think only the girls are wanting to salsa dancing.
So, the choice is made: tuesday, at street, for free! The money will be to our beers, that will made our hips shake a lot :D

During my first full weekend back in southern California, some mates and I went down to San Diego and went to an amazing salsa club. It was mint. I had a sweet time. I danced with many different partners and just had a swell time. Brian was the best partner for sure. :)
I went with some friends from work last Friday, and will be going back this week – hopefully in time for the lesson before the dancing really starts. I actually danced more when they played merengue and bachata because I’m not that confident with salsa yet. The dancers that really knew what they were doing looked amazing. It was fun to get out with some friends, and I actually met a guy that is a good dancer. He’s called a few times since Friday too, which is interesting. I kind of would have preferred to not meet someone because there are a lot of possibilities to explore there, but we’ll see what happens.
i’m planning to go salsa with some girly mates this wednes, should have a good time!
