read more classics

I’ve sadly neglected reading some of the greater Classics of literature, and have mostly spent my mind on contemporary pieces. I don’t really see a problem with this, however, I would like to build my mental landscape upon a firmer foundation of the Classics. So, in-between readings of my favorite contemporary authors, I’d like to get more acquainted with earlier writers too!

reading a lot plays a major role in forming your own style of writing and it shapes your thoughts and mind. it’s definitely important.

My reading habits have been pretty regular lately, and I think I can call this as done as it can ever be. Reading The Time Machine now, although it’s fairly short and I’ll need to find something else soon. Plenty of choices…

I’m going to the bookstore today! At least I hope I am. I have three gift cards to said bookstore, all of which are burning holes in things, and so today i am going to spend them towards this goal.
or at least try to anyway…I will stay away from the music section…yes…I will.

Still working on this goal. Obviously, I won’t have managed all twelve in 2007, but that’s okay. No reason to stop because of a missed random deadline. :D

Not sure what I’ll choose to read next. Maybe something by Charles Dickens.

I’ve been reading more lately…Dracula, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Ender’s Game, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dune, Lord of the Flies…I’m finding that generally speaking, classics are classics for a reason. Hope to keep it up. There’s a terrific book sale here twice a year where I can pick up used paperbacks for a quarter apiece, so I have no shortage of supply.
