Well, I did enroll in evening classes and am enjoying every second of it. I was a bit intimidated by my first assignment which is a draft of the final paper/presentation for this class, but I did very well in it. I cried and feared a horrible grade, but in the midst of all my emotional/psychological turmoil I pulled an A. This really helped me, as I realized that I am on the right track. I am doing something I love, and am moving a bit closer to my ultimate dream.
The class will be over in a few weeks, and then it will be time to enroll in a more classes. I am moving closer to my ultimate goal of attending graduate school
(I am all smiles at the moment)
Well, I found a program where I can enroll in evening classes. It is a program through a university where I can obtain a certificate to teach English as a second language to foreign language speakers.
This is totally up my alley. I am very interested in multiculturalism and literacy. I want to eventually find a program where I get involved in learning, and designing, curriculum for schools with a culturally diverse student body.
This program offers the opportunity of transferring the professional certificate into a university for credit to a masters degree in the same field.
Exciting, isn’t it?
MissQTA is feeling better.
i plan to start grad school online summer of 2009 at liberty university
I had one when I graduated, 3 years ago. I think I should make another one, this time listing programs…being more a little more careful.
I am sure I will find the right one.
I want to contribute as much as I can to do field of education.
I am currently working at a very cool place and getting paid enough for what I do. I have been a nerd, I have a passion for social justice and really want to have an impact on the field of education…por lo menos contribuir un granito de arena para mejorar las cosas. I had everything ready when I graduated from UCB and chickened out of it.
I now miss the books, and my passion has began to haunt me…it keeps calling me.
I’m no longer headed in the directions I’d imagined when I signed up for this goal, and though I imagine I’d like to go to grad school some day, it’s possible it won’t happen. So much else to do!
When I get to a point where I believe grad school would provide a significant advantage to my work, I’ll go. Until then… not so much.
I’ll graduate from the University of Washington in March of 2007. My degree will be a B.S. in Informatics with a minor in Applied Math. I’m considering Computational Linguistics (http://compling.washington.edu) or Computer Science (not sure what school, though).
