We have 3/4th of the backyard complete! I have one more path to lay and I have to figure out what ground cover I’ll be dealing with (if I have any money left- eek!) This will have to wait a litle longer. I’m having a big party out there tomorrow! I’m very excited.

I started working on the backyard. I was able to get some posts set and a little lattice work done. Feels good to see progress.
I may add some flower boxes and other stuff, but the base of rocks and a bench and fountain are already set.
I’m so excited.
Okay, I have removed all the concrete. Ripped out all the grass, and crab grass by hand. Tore out trees, add ammendment. A week ago I rented a rotatiller and went to town. Tomorrow a landscaper is coming over to give us a bid on the skill work. I would say a month away!!
Well, it is in teh first stages of being “done”. I got all the rocks laid, and even added a cute little park bench and the first iteration of my fountain! Next I need to update the area where i planted flowers, and plant some more.. also, finish this little pile of dirt in the corner.. I’m thinkgin i’m going to put some rocks down and buy a stand alone pot with a bush or small tree in it to put there.. something that doesn’t need a lot of light…
The sod was a no go. The deck is now one plank short. Many many other things are not close to being done. I was suppose to have it done by tomorrow and it is pretty unrealisitic to think that some how all of this will be accomplished (esp. when I am also redecorating inside of my home.) It will just get pushed back to possibly next week.
alright so i need the backyard complete by June 17th. This project has been a long time coming and it seems as though I am the only person in the house that really wants to get it done.
There was a pool an above ground pool in the center of our yard for several years and the siding started to rot and no one was interested in taking care of the maintinence so they all voted to get rid of it.
Then we were left with a giant sand pit- how exciting. The base under the pool was all sand. What do you do with that much sand? It wasn’t good sand, you couldn’t give it away and it was too much to throw out by yourself adn then it would have been too expensive to pay for it to be removed. So the next best thing was just mix it in with all the soil.
After that came the plan:
slate paths
firepit
second deck
pergola
