memorize and play the Goldberg Variations

I can get through variations 1 thru 7, butchering 8, 17 and 18 are in the bag, and 22 is coming along nicely. I’ve started this project about a year ago. After fighting with the first one for about 2 months I noticed that each one was becoming playable much faster but as you can see I have a long way to go. I think this is one of those pieces of work that you work on for the rest of your life. I’m in…who else is in?

i want to start playing the piano again now that there’s one accessible. the goldberg variations is always a good place to start.

Just ordered the sheet music, so this is one of my next projects!

I can play the easy ones, like number 10 (the fughetta) and number 18. But I can’t seem to memorize them. And lord knows, the hard ones, where your hands are crossing all over, are just about impossible for me.
