Soucha studying the horizon, how to get there?
from college before I went into my current field. Almost all of my electives were directed at international relations. It’s amazing, I didn’t even know it and took the pre-reqs for it just for fun. So I’ll look into this a bit more. I have a strong belief that people should be able to discuss and not argue about politics so not sure if it’s a field that would make me happy… or if I could make a living out of it. But I KNOW I would find it interesting constantly so that’s a heck of a start!

Soucha studying the horizon, how to get there?
If anyone has read my entries, do you think I’d make a good columnist? Honesty is more important here than anything. And a column must be interesting to the public. I am just adding to my list of possible things to try. Sometimes failure is better than lack of progress! I think I am a good writer, but a little external input is always helpful!

Soucha studying the horizon, how to get there?
I’m NOT going to work inside for the rest of my life! Windows and decent paycheck or not! I’m going to search out every little thing that could provide income, especially if I enjoy it! Teaching myself videography (slowly ;), can already give riding lessons… need better facilities, can grow veggies and flowers (maybe farmers market?), Darling Husband is great photographer and carpenter, and cook… I took a ‘find your best career’ quiz yesterday and it didn’t help. They just tell you your strengths. I want something to spit out businesses I could start with my strengths and lifestyle goals. I already learned if you don’t have successful friends, you’ll have a hard time being successful yourself mostly because of the attitude they project. I’m considered successful, but I’m wanting a different lifestyle now. The desire to do something fun everyday, move, and travel is OVERWHELMING. Unless you have been bitten by the travel bug (happened to me about 5 years ago) then you don’t understand. This is going to happen, but I just don’t want to go into it unprepared. I’m tired of being un-interested in my job and my DAY.

Soucha studying the horizon, how to get there?
I have been daydreaming about backpacking journalism/ videography. But I have little experience, no training, and not much idea of where to start besides go back to college which isn’t feasible right now. But it’s just a thought. So I posted it. And am inspired to post another ‘Thing’ to my list.

Soucha studying the horizon, how to get there?
My husband and I talked about careers (we talk a LOT) and how we wanted to live our lives. He made the point that we may be impatient but we are young (well, HE is young! LOl- he’s 4 yrs my junior) and that working in my very stable career for 20 years would provide a retirement and I’d be able to change to a home business after that. I guess I’d be in my late forties. I know cerebrally that that is the best choice, responsible, sensible, ME. But I have this nagging in my heart to just go. Go go go and change and move. Can travel be an addiction? Neither of us are likely to ‘settle down’ in one spot forever, but we do want to stay somewhere long enough to buy a home and enjoy it. I’ve only been on the job a year, so I told him after 2 (2 to 5) years we can start looking for new jobs somewhere else… in the same field. Guess I better stick to a solid plan and get my kicks with vacation time, huh? Need to fatten up that savings plan.

Soucha studying the horizon, how to get there?
I have been getting headaches at work that go away as soon as I get home. My only explanation is it must be from being inside too much. I have put plants in my office, there has been relatively little stress in workload, and my office is bright with windows. I guess I just wish I were outside, or else need to work for myself. It is annoying to work for someone else. So possible career characteristics include more outside time and less presence of a boss.

... but why not try? I’m still young enough to change careers, though not young enough (in my opinion) to do something as long as medical school. Step one: Google until I can’t Google any more! LOL! I love Google. Seriously though, I aspire to having a farm, traveling a lot, having children (possibly homeschooling them), and LOVE being outside. My job now, while I like it and it provides a good income, doesn’t involve making any of those things I love possible besides financing a farm or travel. So let me continue my search, as I am blessed to have a good job during the process!

Jeeska31 how do I simultaneously work on 43 things?first things first
I am currently out of work but had the opportunity to work for my friend’s dad the other day. It was just painting for about 2 hours and I got $200! But it wasn’t just the money- it felt really good to get physical and work and earn something. Hope he has some more jobs for me in the future. I am also in school full time and really want to get a job right now—especially before summer.
