How to learn how to play piano

How I did it: I took a class my high school was offering where we not only learned to play piano, but we learned all of the basic and intermediate concepts of music theory.
Lessons & tips: If this is something you really want to do, find a class where you can learn music theory and incorporate piano into the lessons. It is worth it, especially if you are a singer like me. If you can get your friends to join you, that's even better! My class was offered at my school so i already had friends rostered into my classes, but if something like that is unavailable, ask a friend to join with you!

Amongst other instruments, i’ve been wanting to play the piano for a long time. I am 14 years old and when i was 6 i took piano lessons for nearly a year and i passed the first level so i have a little experience but i started disliking my piano teacher so i stopped playing it. At the age of 9 i joined the school’s beginner band but the piano position was taken so i started playing the tin whistle (Irish instrument) and i can still play it cuz it’s so easy but until now i regret stopping piano lessons but i’m hoping to start again sometime soon ;)

When I was younger I was totally in luv with piano music. I used to be so impressed when someone I knew could play piano really well. When I was younger, like 8 yrs old lol, I took lessons for a bit, but that was forever ago. Ever since I’ve taken the time to visit this site and add things to my list every week, I get all inspired to do everything I talk about wanting to do all the time. I might not be able to financially afford lessons just yet, but I am going to start hopefully by this summer.

Playing the piano is something I’ve always wanted to do. I taught myself a few things once. I had my grandma’s sheet music, and I tried to learn. I learned chopstix once too. But I can’t even remember any of that. So, this is kind of a dream and maybe won’t happen for a while, but when it does, it’ll be so cool.

I love the sound of piano. Very soothing. I’d love to learn it. My best friend plays it and i envy her greatly. Also David Bowie plays which makes it even better. I would just like to learn atleast the basics to start.
