LPBraun needs to do some cardio & posture exercises!
I had a cup of regular coffee at work. It wasn’t that good. Honestly. I did feel a tad jittery afterwards and had some gastrointestinal excitement. Sorry to let you guys know that :)
How I did it: The most important part was enlisting my boyfriend (who lives with me) to help me. He talked me through the times when I really wanted more coffee, and helped me rationally think about whether I should have more or not. That was a huge help.
Lessons & tips: Pay attention to the effect caffeine has on your mood and anxiety levels. Find other things that give you energy or perk you up, like exercise, and do them.

No regular coffee (oh, I did have some a few days ago) but, I’ve had a bit of black tea lately.

I drank 2 cups of coffee at work. Hey…110 hours of work this week on overnight shift. I need something enjoyable! Honestly, it wasn’t as good as I remember it tasting.

I wanted coffee with a couple of those hazelnut creamers so bad last night at work, but I managed to drink black tea instead.

I almost drank a cup of coffee last night at work. I decided to pull up some of the negative effects of coffee on the web to talk myself out of it. It worked! I did drink white tea instead, though which has more of the benefits that I’m looking for.

Well, I didn’t drink alcohol, but I drank 3 big glasses of sweetened tea instead. Needless to say, I’m wide awake. I’m not sure if it’s from the sugar, the caffeine, or both. I don’t get caffeine jitters with tea like I do with coffee. Coffee makes my face flush, makes me jittery, and causes palpitations. 1 cup of coffee affects me more than 3 glasses of tea. I think I’ll mainly just concentrate on staying away from regular coffee. I just don’t need to drink too much tea either I suppose, but I do like it.

I drank green tea instead of coffee at work and had decaf coffee at home.

I drank a cup of green tea at work last night instead of coffee. Not caffeine free, but less caffeine. I tried the organic, Swiss water-process decaf today that I bought. Yuck! Tastes like watered down cigarette butts! But, hey, I didn’t get jitters, increased heart rate, hot flash, or have to pee!

The reason I want to get away from caffeine a bit is because it increases my anxiety. I feel heart palpitations and my face flush when I drink coffee. Also, my blood pressure has been higher and I’m sure that caffeine isn’t helping. Tea doesn’t seem to affect me as bad unless I drink a lot of it. Thing is, I don’t know how to have just 1 cup of coffee. I will drink a whole pot without realizing it! Of course, I can always drink decaf or lite coffee, but I will only drink it if is Swiss water process or CO2 process decaf which is more expensive and you can’t depend on restaurants having it. The most common method used is the direct method which uses methylene chloride or synthetic ethyl acetate. I would drink regular coffee before touching that toxic decaf!
Well, I haven’t touched coffee since I started this goal, but I’ve been replacing it with black tea. I believe black tea has about half the caffeine as a cup of coffee, so it’s an improvement. I would like to drink some herbal teas more often. I have a whole stash of herbals, but I’m never in the mood for them. Maybe, when I get used to being without so much caffeine, they will appear yummy.
