How to move to Montana by flynaebirdy

"be willing to quit your job, pack up and stick your thumb out ....but hold on to the knife, cell phone and wallet in your pocket"

How I did it: Saved up money, researched cities, put in a notice at work, took a trip to montana to find the city, rented an apartment, went back and packed, got in the car and started driving....luckily I ended up at the apartment in montana I had rented.

    I’m scared. It has a great environmental science program, but is it worth it? My family is 2 days away by car, and I don’t like to ski.

    But I’m gonna do it. I am moving to Montana and I’m going to fucking love it! So there. There we go.

    Can't wait 23 months ago

    In 31 weeks and 2 days I will be leaving for a two-week vacation in Montana/Wyoming! I am so excited! I plan on having TOO much fun. I will go to Glacier and Teton and Grays River and Dillon and Billings and Bozeman and wherever else I want to go! And I am having steak at the Cattle Baron and pie at the Park Cafe. And lots of huckleberry ice cream.

    But I am NOT buying any more souveniers.

    SO VERY WORTH IT! Beautiful wide open skies, crystal clear water that just sparkles, wild life that out numbers the people and the slow paced life we all dream of. I am glad we did! and I wish this were our house being built!

    i have been there, it is the most beautiful place i have seen in the lower 48 states, beautiful mountains, clean water, fresh air and they love people from Texas. I would live in a cabin in the woods, cut firewood, shoot rabbits – what ever it took.
